Data Services Industry Veteran Don McLagan Named Chairman, President and CEO at Compete, Inc.

Compete, Inc. today announced that veteran data services industry executive Donald L. McLagan has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Man Jit Singh. McLagan, previously Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of NewsEdge Corp., also was named President and Chairman of the company's Board of Directors.

McLagan is an information industry entrepreneur who has been an innovator of business information services See Information Systems.  for more than 30 years. From 1988 to 2000, he was the founder, Chairman and CEO of NewsEdge Corporation, a public company subsequently acquired by Thomson Corporation. Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Information Services Division of Lotus Development Corporation (company) Lotus Development Corporation - A software company who produced Lotus 1-2-3, the Symphony spreadsheet and Lotus Notes for the IBM PC.
