Data Mining from IBM.

IBM's DB2 Intelligent Miner Scoring is designed to permit banks customers according to predetermined criteria and make real-time decisions. Intended as an extension to IBM's DB2 Universal Database, which was introduced in March, the new program module works directly from a relational database but does not require special training to use. Rather, the company says, the product "puts real-time analytics in the hands of the people on the front lines of GRM applications."

DB2 Intelligent Miner Scoring "speeds up the data mining process, resulting in the ability to make quicker decisions from a host of culled data," says Janet Pema, general manager, IBM Data Management Solutions. "Additionally, companies no longer have to wait for Oracle to incorporate business intelligence capabilities into their database product since IBM DB2 Intelligent Miner Scoring is also compatible with Oracle databases." The system can also read information running on competitive databases, as well.
