Data General and Design Data Systems announce strategic alliance.


WESTBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 1996--

Client/server financial applications to run on AViiON servers

Data General Corporation announced today that Design Data Systems Corporation will offer its Client/Server SQL-TIME Financial, Distribution and Project Management applications on Data General's line of Intel- based AViiON servers, providing an enterprise-wide solution for distributors, systems integrators, OEMs, and engineering and architectural firms.

Design Data Systems' SQL-TIME suite of Oracle based applications is specifically designed for businesses that deliver customized or discrete products and require an activity- based or project-based financial approach. The agreement with Data General marks the first time that the SQL-TIME applications can be deployed on a single hardware platform giving the user a wide choice of industry standard operating systems Operating systems can be categorized by technology, ownership, licensing, working state, usage, and by many other characteristics.
