Demonstrating its leadership in the server market, Data General announced its Microsoft Windows See Windows.

Designed for business critical applications and the diverse integration requirements such as those found in the healthcare industry, the AViiON High-Density Server offers advanced features and options including N+1 hot-swap power in a small footprint.

The High-Density Server supports up to 200 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  Pentium Pro processors with 512-KB of integrated L2 cache and a maximum of 512 MB of memory. Up to 12 servers can be rackmounted in a single 73-inch chassis, providing users with a complete configuration enclosed in one space-efficient cabinet.

The N+1 hot-swap power option offers 24-hour, 365-day high-availability by allowing users to replace damaged systems without interrupting critical applications.

In addition to N+1 hot-swap power and cooling, the high-density server offers standard AViiON server features and options such as controller and internal mass storage configurability, NT Alert automated detection service support and NTerprise Manager systems management software.

NTerprise Manager is the first integrated system-management solution fully compatible with Microsoft Management Console A Windows NT/2000 feature that provides a common environment for running management software from Microsoft and third parties. Any type of administration service such as network management, antivirus management, disk management and authentication can be created as a Microsoft Management  (MMC See MultiMediaCard and Microsoft Management Console. ), an ISV-extensible, common console framework that is the core of Microsoft's management strategy for NT. With NTerprise Manager, system managers can monitor and manage hardware, systems software and applications from a central management console.
