The sales will be made to Data General's customers whose systems use Interactive COBOL COBOL: see programming language. COBOL in full Common Business-Oriented Language. Data General will also exclusively market Egan's in-house Year 2000 and software migration services to customers who wish to subcontract all or part of their Year 2000 or software migration projects. Additionally, Data General will offer an innovative turnkey package consisting of the appropriate Egan G-2K tool suite and a specifically configured DG Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. workstation on which to perform the necessary Year 2000 fixes.
