Data General, MicroAge to Provide AViiON NT Servers to Nationwide Reseller Network.


WESTBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 1997-- Data General Corporation announced today that MicroAge Inc., one of the nation's largest information technology services providers, will distribute Data General's NT based AViiON servers.

MicroAge will offer the full line of Data General's Intel based See Intel-based system.  AViiON NT servers to its nationwide network of advanced systems resellers.

The AViiON family ranges from the powerful AV 6600 enterprise server, which has six 200MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. Cluster Server was formerly code named Wolfpack.  and FirstWatch for NT failover software from Veritas Software Veritas Software Corp. was an international software company that was founded in 1983 as Tolerant Systems, renamed Veritas Software Corp. in 1989, and merged with Symantec in 2005. It was headquartered in Mountain View, California.  Corporation, includes up to 12 200MHz Pentium Pro processors (with two AV 6600 systems) and the company's RAID technology based CLARiiON storage system.
