(2) (Data Compression L ), of London, England, today announced that it has been chosen as a key software supplier to The Messaging Alliance, an LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol formed recently by four of the RBOCS - Ameritech, Bell Atlantic, Nynex and Pacific Bell. DCL will provide the backbone messaging and directory software for use by TMA TMA Turnaround Management Association TMA Texas Medical Association TMA Transportation Management Association TMA Training and Management Assistance (a component of OHRD, which is a component of OWR) TMA Tooling & Manufacturing Association members and clients in providing integrated voice-messaging services. The key components provided by DCL include integrated X.400 and SMTP/MIME backbone messaging servers and X.500 directory servers, all provided on the IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) RS6000 range of hardware. The task of systems integration has been performed through a joint project between IBM, DCL and TMA.
