Data Access India Limited, India's second largest international long distance (ILD) player and the parent company of DataAccess America, continues to expand its global operations with the announcement of Data Access Lanka (Private) Ltd. Data Access Lanka has been granted an External Gateway Operator (EGO) license by the Sri Lanka Telecommunication Regulatory Commission to provide ILD services to and from Sri Lanka.

Building on its success in capturing 40 percent of the Indian ILD market since it opened to competition in April 2002, Data Access has rapidly expanded its global footprint acquiring carrier licenses in the United States and the United Kingdom. Expansion into Sri Lanka increases the company's presence in South Asia and advances its strategy to capitalize on inbound traffic from high cost and growing ILD markets.

Data Access Lanka will offer ILD carrier voice services to and from Sri Lanka as well as pre-paid calling cards platforms and enterprise services such as switched International Private Leased Circuits (IPLC) and IP-VPN.
