Data & Commerce Brings Digital TV to Indonesia; Recently Floated Datacasting Developer DCL to Realize Digital TV Infrastructure Project.

), a developer and service provider in the digital datacasting arena which was listed on the ASX today, has entered into an agreement with PT RekasisCom Widya to build new television broadcasting infrastructure in Indonesia. The DCL revenue flow is initially expected to generate US $3.7m in revenues which may increase should the project expand to become national.

PT RekasisCom is the owner of broadcasting licenses for TV Channel 11 to deliver services to Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi in Indonesia. It also has a 150Mhz wide LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution Service) A digital wireless transmission system that works in the 28 GHz range in the U.S. and 24-40 GHz overseas. It requires line of sight between transmitter and receiving antenna, which can be from one to four miles apart  license, which may be used for two-way data traffic. RekasisCom has the right to offer Pay TV services, Pay-per-View, digital TV, digital radio, interactive multimedia and two-way wireless Internet.

In the first stage of this project, DCL will deliver a digital television broadcast facility, a data center and a small LMDS data service at a project cost of US $3.7m. DCL also has a right to supply for a 3-year term any further purchases by the client of digital set top boxes and broadcasting infrastructure.
