The victim, thought to be in his 30s, had pain in his arms, legs and back. He was finally winched up into a helicopter which arrived from Prestwick in Ayrshire after 40 minutes. A spokesman said: "The tide was out but it comes in quickly so we had to make sure he stayed out the water.
