Darwin cut out of dad's will.


BACK-FROM-THE-DEAD canoeist John Darwin John Haddrick Darwin (born 17 December 1923) was Government Statistician[1] of New Zealand from 1980-1984 and a member of the 1985-86 Royal Commission on the Electoral System.  has been cut out of his father's will.

The 58-year-old faked his own death in a pounds 250,000 insurance scam and turned up alive five years later.

His dad, Ronald Darwin, was left grieving, only to find out his son had duped him.

Ronald, of Blackhall Colliery Blackhall Colliery is a village on the North Sea coast of County Durham, in England. It is situated on the A1086 between Horden and Hartlepool. Darwin staged his own death in 2002 by pretending he had been lost at sea while canoeing near his home in Seaton Carew Seaton Carew is a small seaside resort within the borough of Hartlepool, England. His wife Anne, 56, played the grieving widow to fool everyone, including the couple's two sons and her father-in-law. She cashed in pounds 250,000 in life insurance and pension schemes.

Last year, Darwin was jailed for six years for fraud. Anne got six years and six months.

Darwin's aunt Margaret said at the time: "When John turned up alive, Ronnie was really proud and happy.

"It's been terrible watching him crumble as the story has come out. He was never reunited with John."
