Darwin Partners and Compuware Announce Partnership for New CARS Initiative.

Business Editors

WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 2003

Darwin Partners and Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today announced a partnership to support the delivery of the new Compuware Application Reliability Solution (CARS). CARS is a comprehensive solution that features a common view of key project metrics and the automated collection of these metrics, providing IT management with the knowledge to make informed application deployment decisions in real time.

CARS provides IT organizations with a proven methodology and a unique industry-leading tools workbench to produce a complete quality management solution. Compuware's Application Quality Workbench (AQW), the heart of CARS, instills discipline, automates processes, and ensures consistency and repeatability throughout the testing life cycle, resulting in the delivery of reliable, high-quality applications. Data gathered from the AQW is quickly shared with developers, improving the effectiveness of their efforts and allowing IT organizations to leverage their core competencies of developing applications.

The Darwin-Compuware partnership offers solid synergy. "This partnership is a natural extension of our Enterprise Quality Management (EQM) offerings to clients trying to achieve tighter control with provable ROI," said Dan Walsh, President and Chief Executive Officer at Darwin Partners. Walsh added, "Managers and project team members can now have a common view into the heart of their projects. This is an invaluable asset in helping leading organizations develop the best practices, methodologies and processes they need to be efficient and effective."

Thomas Poirier, Vice President of Automated Quality Solutions at Darwin Partners, said, "The integration of Compuware's tools with the Application Quality Workbench, the methodology, and the enforced discipline is a compelling story. We can now achieve short-term, measurable gains while setting our IT clients on a path of increased efficiencies and verifiable confidence in their deployed applications." He added, "Darwin's extensive experience in shepherding the technology adoption process, coupled with our deep knowledge of major technologies such as PeopleSoft, SAP, Siebel, and Oracle allow us to provide comprehensive turnkey solutions with the highly configurable product set we get with CARS." Poirier will be heading up the CARS initiative for Darwin Partners.

"At Compuware, we prize our strategic relationship with Darwin Partners," said Don Morrison, Compuware Vice President, Channels and Alliances. "Compuware and Darwin have joined forces to meet the needs of multiple clients. We are pleased that Darwin is extending its longstanding commitment to our products to participate in the Compuware Application Reliability Solution initiative. Darwin will be able to extend the reach of the CARS offering through their vertical industry focus and their experience with specific packaged applications."
