Conger called in October and offered the ring to the foundation. It's appraised at more than $34,000.

Other items up for sale include a 2001 Cadillac DeVille donated by General Motors Corp., artwork by David Hockney, and boxing gloves signed by Muhammad Ali.

Despite its odd provenance, the Make A Wish Foundation was pleased enough with the ring to put it at the top of the auction list.
