Embedded Internet Processor Chip and Software Development

Scenix, a leader in providing embedded Internet processors and software, today announced that Darrell M. Burns has joined the company as vice president of engineering. Mr. Burns, 44, has more than 21 years of experience in the areas of VLSI VLSI: see integrated circuit.

Before joining Scenix, Mr. Burns was vice president of engineering and general manager at ATI Research, responsible for ATI's integrated graphics solutions. Prior to its acquisition by ATI, he was vice president of engineering at Chromatic Research. He was previously with Hewlett-Packard, most recently as Lab Director, Systems Technology Division. His other positions at Hewlett-Packard included Section Manager, Chief Engineer and Project Manager, Systems Technology Division, and R&D Engineer, Computer Systems Division/HP Labs.

During his career, Mr. Burns has consistently shown that he can grow and manage organizations. At Chromatic Research, for example, his VLSI team went from 10 to 110, and at Hewlett-Packard's Systems Technology Division, he grew his team to 135 employees.
