Danzas North America, ETS Deliver Harry Potter's Wizardry Across U.S., Canada.

DARIEN, Conn.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2001

Record-Breaking Venture Continues Partnership's 10-Year

Tradition Of Excellence In Film Delivery And Logistics

Danzas North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  and its long-time partner, Entertainment Transportation Specialists, Inc., (ETS ETS Educational Testing Service (nonprofit private educational testing and measurement organization)
ETS Emergency Telecommunications Service
ETS Electronic Trading System
ETS Engineering (&) Technical Services
) announced that they managed the shipping and physical distribution of prints for the blockbuster film "Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone."

The adaptation of J.K. Rowling's successful children's novel, which opened November 16, grossed $93.5 million in its opening weekend, making it the biggest opening in film history

Danzas coordinated the deliveries of prints moving from Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  to 34 ETS depots strategically located across the country to expedite the distribution of the prints to theaters. Prints were mounted, and 10 upcoming previews, or "trailers," were added in order to prepare for the film's opening in the U.S. and Canada.

Danzas and ETS implemented extraordinary security procedures to prevent bootleggers from pilfering pil·fer

and distributing any of the prints, all the while maintaining strict adherence to government security directives. These procedures, which were first imposed for the opening of "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace," included:
-- Shrink-wrapping each print in a black plastic waterproof case whose only
outer markings were the shipment's origin and destination. ETS used no markings
to indicate that a film was inside; not even the airlines and trucking
companies moving the cases knew of its contents.

-- Labeling each reel packed in the case with a pseudo movie title.

-- Dividing each print into two shipments so that even a pilfered print would
not contain all of the movie's reels. The companies also staggered the delivery
dates over a multi-day period to ensure that no two shipments containing all of
the film's reels were shipped on the same day or in the same vehicle. Although
this strategy resulted in added costs and workload, it was deemed a necessary
expense under the circumstances.

"For nearly a decade, the Danzas-ETS partnership has earned our trust by delivering world-class logistics solutions and service," said Nancy Sams, vice president, print control, Warner Brothers Warner Brothers (b. Eichelbaums) movie executives; Harry (Morris) (1881–1958), born in Krasnashiltz, Poland; Albert (1884–1967), born in Baltimore, Md.; Samuel (1887–1927), born in Baltimore, Md. , distributors of `Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone.' "The size and scope of the distribution was unprecedented, yet each print was delivered on time to every designated theater without a single breach of security being reported. The partnership's performance, especially with so much riding on it, was a remarkable achievement."

The "Harry Potter" project marks another milestone in the exclusive partnership between Danzas and Los Angeles-based ETS. The two companies joined forces in 1992. Since then, they have handled the shipping and physical distribution of some of the biggest films of the past decade.

The partnership works with a number of major studios, offering end-to-end logistics solutions that include delivery and distribution between theaters, and the shipment of "rejuvenations," older films that are returned to film labs, technically modified and then transported for distribution to overseas markets. Danzas operates dedicated film departments in Los Angeles and at its World Service Center in Renton, Wash., outside Seattle.

"Perhaps our greatest strength is our versatility. Our skills and capabilities are applicable to multiple industries, and our success comes from mastering the nuances of each one," said Mona Raub, vice president, customer service, Danzas. "A global network and world-class technology are excellent tools, but they are only the supporting cast. The core of our value proposition is understanding each business and then leveraging our resources to enhance its operations."

"We take pride in our extensive knowledge of the film industry and all of the details associated with shipping and logistics. Our expertise is superbly supported by Danzas's infrastructure, resources and people," said Randy Morgan, president of ETS. "Taken together, we represent a very compelling value to studios and theaters looking to enhance the experience for the ultimate customer: The audience."
