Danny Glover, an actor, producer, and director, and one of Hollywood's most renowned and respected leading men, will be the featured speaker at the Nova Southeastern University History
Originally named Nova University of Advanced Technology,[7] the university was chartered by the state of Florida in 1964[8][9] as a graduate institution in the physical and social sciences.

From Places in the Heart and the Lethal Weapon series, Danny Glover has excelled on stage, screen, and television for more than a decade. His most recent project united him with Oprah Winfrey (first brought together for the filming of Alice Walker's The Color Purple) for the acclaimed adaptation of Toni Morrison's Beloved.

A native of San Francisco, Glover attended San Francisco State College and trained at the Black Actor's Workshop of the American Conservatory Theater American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is a theater company in San Francisco, California, that offers both contemporary and classical theater productions and a wide range of classes. . Off-screen, Glover is a powerful advocate for literacy and has spoken to elementary and high-school students around the nation about the joys of reading and education. He has spoken at junior and senior high schools about the importance of education and self-determination, and serves as a board member and spokesperson for Walden House, a drug rehabilitation center for teens and adults in San Francisco.

Another passion of Glover's is supporting humanitarian efforts to improve the lives of people throughout the world. He currently serves as the first goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Development Program, which focuses on the eradication of poverty, regenerating the environment, creating jobs, and advancing the rights of women, and has served on the boards of the Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International Amnesty International (AI,) human-rights organization founded in 1961 by Englishman Peter Benenson; it campaigns internationally against the detention of prisoners of conscience, for the fair trial of political prisoners, to abolish the death penalty and torture of .

The Fort Lauderdale Luncheon Forum will be held at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel at 1825 Griffin Road in Dania Beach. A buffet lunch will be served promptly at 12:15 p.m. and Danny Glover will speak from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
