DANNY HIGGINBOTHAM Daniel John "Danny" Higginbotham (born 29 December, 1978 in Manchester, England) is an English footballer who currently plays as a defender for Sunderland. Playing Career  has played in a winning Southampton side at Liverpool and he will strain every sinew sinew /sin·ew/ (sin´u) a tendon of a muscle.

"They've won the European Cup since we won there with Southampton, and this year they look like a squad who will be battling on all fronts," he said of Rafael Benitez's team.

"They've got world class players in every position, but the great thing about the Premier League is you get the chance to show how good you are against those players.

"It's brilliant to be able to judge yourself against the likes of Steven Gerrard, who is one of the best players on the planet.

"He never fails to surprise you with the things he does and his first goal against Marseille this week was unbelievable."
