Founded in 1962, Hitachi is now fully digital, clearly making them the most experienced provider of comprehensive and flexible digital document solutions. The new DDP MicroPress makes that leadership even more evident," said Merriman.

Michael Stramaglio, President and COO of Hitachi Koki Imaging Solutions, Inc., noted that the agreement is not only good for both companies, but also for printing customers. "With Danka's established distribution network and excellent reputation for sales and service, this new agreement with Hitachi means that customers across Europe will now have access to an affordable Print-On-Demand system for the first time," said Stramaglio.

The DDP MicroPress uses a Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). The system's speed, versatility (operates with either PC or Mac-based systems) reliability and breakthrough price/performance, make it a powerful alternative to a single-engine solution.
