Danish agriculture minister spearheads organic campaign. (News from Europe).

Some DKr 5 million (about $800,000) is being invested in the campaign, which is also being supported by the Danish Agriculture Council (Landbrugsraadet), Danish Consumers Council and Danish Organic Food Association.

Organic foods account for 30% of retail food sales in Denmark; that is believed to be the highest percentage anywhere. Retail chain operator COOP Danmark reported a two percent year-on-year rise in sales of organic foods for the first four months of 2003.
