Danish Air Force Selects EDO/Terma Enhanced Smart Triple Ejector Racks.

FARNBOROUGH, U.K. -- EDO Corporation (NYSE: EDO) and Terma A/S have been selected by the Danish Air Force to deliver Enhanced Smart Triple Ejector Racks (ESTER) in support of the European Participating Air Forces (EPAF) F-16 M5 Mid-Life Update program. These initial ESTER units will be used to support M5 System Integration Laboratory and flight testing later in 2006. E[acute accent]The existing Triple Ejector Rack is a weapon-suspension unit that attaches to an aircraft's weapon pylons, enabling each pylon to carry three weapons. The existing TER-9 version is suitable for under-wing F-16 laser-guided and ballistic weapons, with the ability to release weapons individually. E[acute accent]The EDO/Terma ESTER program will upgrade TER-9 racks by adding the capability to carry modern "smart" weapons that operate on the military standard 1760 interface. These include the Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM), Enhanced Paveway II (EGBU-12), and future Small Diameter Bomb (SDB).
