Danisco Flexible's FlexCan.

Danisco Flexible have just launched the FlexCan, which they tell us is an intelligent flexible pack that remains intact and retains its shape and brand identity during use.

The FlexCan is suitable for use with powders, granules and other dry and semi dry products. It features easy-open and recloseability and is claimed to be a cost-effective alternative to traditional cans, jars or bag-in-box systems and could therefore replace materials like glass, tinplate and cartonboard.

In fact, there are three members of the FlexCan family: FlexCan, Peelable FlexCan and Reclosable FlexCan. Each type is available with an integrated valve. The reclose option can be obtained by folding the flap down or by using integrated tape, hot-melt or an adhesive label. This whole concept allows packs in various heights and widths to be produced, and saves on the storage space needed for packaging material. It makes an attractive table pack, from which it is easy to pour or spoon.

This FlexCan concept has been developed by Danisco Flexible, tel:[phone], in conjunction with Rovema, the German machine manufacturers, and is based on their newly developed Model VPK continuous motion packer.
