Daniel Tischman honored at Yeshiva U.The men's division of the Albert Einstein Albert 1879-1955. German-born American theoretical physicist whose special and general theories of relativity revolutionized modern thought on the nature of space and time and formed a theoretical base for the exploitation of atomic energy. He won a Nobel Prize in 1921 for his explanation of the photoelectric effect. Tishman received the Einstein Humanitarian Award for his outstanding community and philanthropic leadership and his passionate commitment to the environment. "Mr. Tishman is recognized for his efforts to incorporate good environmental practices in the design and construction of buildings that are both environmentally and economically practical, improving the quality of life for tenants and their neighbors," said Marc Karetsky, managing director of Bane of America Securities and secretary of men's division. Proceeds from the dinner and day of golf and tennis that preceded it will benefit the division's $5 million fundraising project to establish a floor in cell transplantation and human genomics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. "Our current project will plan an important role in expanding research facilities at Einstein and helping medical science find better and more human treatments for such diseases as stroke, diabetes, and neurological trauma," said Neil A.
