Rose was a director with U.S. Trust Corp. for 10 years and now serves as a director of more than 20 Dreyfus-sponsored mutual funds. He was a Trustee of Corporate Property Investors from 1972 to 1998.

He also teaches, lectures and writes on a variety of real estate and planning subjects. Rose has served as expert advisor to the secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and as an expert/consultant to the commissioner of education for the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare.

In addition, Rose was appointed by President Bill Clinton as vice chairman of the Baltic-American Enterprise Fund, a U.S.-government-funded organization created to stimulate free market business activity in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

Rose is now eligible for consideration for he 2003 National Entrepreneur Of The Year program. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year, will be announced at the awards gala on Nov. 22 at the J.W. Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, Calif.
