Daniel H. Olmsted takes on CEO position at Atlantic Cos.The Atlantic Cos. has named Daniel H. Olmsted, current president and chief operating officer, to the additional role of chief executive officer. Olmsted replaces former Chief Executive Officer Klaus Dorfi who will remain chairman until he retires at the end of 2007. Olmsted was named chief operating officer in 2006 and president in 2004. He joined Atlantic Cos. in 1984 and has served in a variety of roles in the commercial and personal insurance business divisions, as well as corporate counsel. Olmsted was valuable in the introduction of the first package policy designed specifically for the affluent market niche, the Atlantic Master Plan personal insurance program. "It is an honor to be named the CEO of an insurance company with a rich heritage dating back to 1842," said Olmsted. "And it's exciting because we have a great opportunity to build on that heritage. With our top-ranked service organization and strong relationships with independent agents, Atlantic and its group of companies are in a unique position to act as a primary insurer as well as help other business partners pursue profitable niche markets in the property/casualty insurance business." The Atlantic Cos., also known as Atlantic Mutual, serve as a primary property/casualty insurer, manage claims for commercial insurance and help other business partners target profitable niches in the insurance marketplace. |
