Daniel H. Kozik 1943 - 2009.

WARE Daniel H. "Kozy" Kozik, 66, of Ware, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. Dan was born on March 1, 1943 in Ware, son of the late Henry and Felixa (Gaj) Kozik. He leaves his sister, Marcia E. Kowalski and her husband Anthony R. of Ware; two nephews: Michael and Kenneth Kowalski of Ware; and many cousins & friends. He was a retiree of the Metropolitan District Commission with 34 years of dedicated service. Dan graduated from Ware High School in 1960 and attended Leicester Jr. College. He was a life long New York Yankees fan. He loved to play pool and golf. Dan was thrilled when he won the Western Mass Title which qualified him to play pool in the "Miller Beer Pool Tournament" in Las Vegas, Nev. Dan served in the U.S. Army as a medic during the Santo Domingo Uprising. He was a member of the American Legion Post 123 of Ware, Weir River Club and Dunroman Country Club, & a member of St. Mary's Church, Ware. Funeral Services for Dan will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 10:15 am from the Cebula Funeral Home Chapel, 66 South Street, Ware. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 am on Saturday, November 7, 2009 in St. Mary's Church, 60 South Street, Ware. Military Honors will follow the Mass. Inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ware. Calling Hours will be held for family & friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, November 6, in the funeral home chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made in Dan's Memory to St. Mary's School, 60 South Street, Ware or to the Alzheimer's Association Western Mass Div., 59 Bobala Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
