As the U.S. e-commerce professional services partner, Foster was responsible for a consulting and development organization focused on e-business implementation and enterprise design architecture. The organization specialized in Internet banking, which supported customers such as NetBank, SouthTrust, GiantBank.com and City Holding Corporation.

Foster has multiple degrees, including an M.B.A. in management from Elon College, a master's degree in computer information science from Troy State University and a bachelor's degree in mineral engineering from the University of Alabama.
