Daniel F. Whitney, Jr.


MILLBURY Daniel F. Whitney, Jr., 70, of Millbury and formerly of Grafton and Milford, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 in Millbury Healthcare Center after a long illness.

Mr. Whitney was born in Milford, a son of the late Daniel F. and Borghild (Hoel) Whitney, and was a 1962 graduate of Worcester Junior College Worcester Junior College was a private two-year college located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Prior to its closure in 1989, the College offered Associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences, business and engineering. . Before becoming disabled many years ago, he had worked for several area companies, including Norton Company, Whitin Machine Works, Bay State Abrasives abrasives

He leaves five children, Heidi B. Dion and her husband Richard of Grafton, Beth A. Mattson and her husband Bruce of Uxbridge, Seth D. Whitney of Grafton, Andrew J. Whitney and his wife Kathy of Douglas, and Matthew J. Whitney and his wife Denise of Upton; two brothers, Richard H. Whitney of North Grafton and Bruce A. Whitney of Grafton; eight grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations. The children of one's children. Sometimes these may claim bequests given in a will to children, though in general they can make no such claim. 6 Co. 16. ; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Donna M. Sbrogna.

 are under the direction of the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home of Upton and will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Grafton.
