Daniel F. Whitney, Jr.MILLBURY Daniel F. Whitney, Jr., 70, of Millbury and formerly of Grafton and Milford, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 in Millbury Healthcare Center after a long illness. Mr. Whitney was born in Milford, a son of the late Daniel F. and Borghild (Hoel) Whitney, and was a 1962 graduate of Worcester Junior College Worcester Junior College was a private two-year college located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Prior to its closure in 1989, the College offered Associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences, business and engineering. . Before becoming disabled many years ago, he had worked for several area companies, including Norton Company, Whitin Machine Works, Bay State Abrasives abrasives Sharp, hard materials used to wear away the surface of softer, less resistant materials. Abrasives are indispensable to the manufacture of the highly precise components and ultrasmooth surfaces required in the manufacture of automobiles, airplanes and space , and Hill Food Service. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church Episcopal Church, Anglican church of the United States. Its separate existence as an American ecclesiastical body with its own episcopate began in 1789.
