Daniel "Leonard" Lataille.


STURBRIDGE Daniel "Leonard" Lataille, 82, of Oak Ave., died Saturday, Nov. 21st, after a long illness.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loretta Lataille; a son, Leonard Lataille and his wife Susan of Southbridge; a daughter, Dianne Friedland and her husband Jonathan of Worcester; a sister, Dorothy Lamoureux and her husband Adrien of Southbridge; a sister-in-law, June Dooley and her husband William of Jupiter, FL; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a niece NIECE, domestic relations: The daughter of a person's brother or sister. Amb. 514; 1 Jacob's Ch. R. 207. , a nephew and several cousins. A grandson, Denis Denis, king of Portugal: see Diniz.  A. Lataille and a niece, Linda Crabtree, predeceased him. He was born in Southbridge, the son of the late Albert and Irene (Capistrand) Lataille. He attended Cole Trade School in Southbridge and served in the U.S. Merchant Marines.

"Danny" was co-founder and co-owner of Sturbridge Auto Body for over 40 years. Prior to opening the auto body, he worked at Bellefont Dye in Sturbridge; Southbridge Finishing and the American Optical Co. in Southbridge. Daniel held a private pilots license for single and twin engine aircraft.

His funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24th, at 11:00 a.m. in Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame  Church, 446 Main St., Southbridge. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of Instead of; in place of; in substitution of. It does not mean in addition to.  flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
