Dangerous dogs need tough laws; LEGAL.


TOUGHER penalties for dangerous dog attacks should be introduced, the Department of Agriculture said yesterday.

The minister proposes that dogs be microchipped to be licensed and licence fees be raised from pounds 5 to pounds 50, with a 50% reduction for neutered or spayed dogs and reduced rates for those on benefits or the elderly.
