Danger, Inc. Adds Rick Gilbert of Kineto Wireless and Rocky Pimentel of Glu Mobile to the Board of Directors.


PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Danger, Inc. has added two new members to its board of directors, with the appointment of Rick Gilbert, president and chief executive officer of Kineto Wireless and Rocky Pimentel, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Glu Mobile.

Danger's Board of Directors now includes:

* Hank Nothhaft: Danger Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  

* Joe Britt: Danger Founder and CTO (Chief Technical Officer) The executive responsible for the technical direction of an organization. See CIO and salary survey.  

* Greg Galanos: Mobius Venture Capital

* Jeff Brody: Redpoint Ventures

* Eric Hippeau: Softbank Capital

* Rick Gilbert: Kineto Wireless

* Rocky Pimentel: Glu Mobile

As president and chief executive officer, Rick Gilbert sets the strategic direction for Kineto Wireless, an innovator and leading supplier of UMA (1) (Unlicensed Mobile Access) See GAN.

(2) (Upper Memory Area) Memory in a PC between 640K and 1M. More relevant in the days of DOS, this region was broken into Upper Memory Blocks (UMB) reserved for video memory and other
 technology. Prior to joining Kineto, Mr. Gilbert was the chairman and chief executive officer of Copper Mountain Networks, a leading provider of broadband access products to ILECs, CLECs, IOCs, IXCs, PTTs, and other facilities-based network providers worldwide. Prior to Copper Mountain, Mr. Gilbert was the president of ADC (1) See A/D converter.

(2) (Apple Display Connector) A peripheral connector from Apple that combines digital video display, USB and power in one cable.
 Kentrox, one of the fastest growing and most profitable divisions of ADC Telecommunications. Additionally, Mr. Gilbert has held numerous senior management positions with companies that include Make Systems, Vitalink Communications Corporation, and IBM Corporation.

As executive vice president and chief financial officer, Rocky Pimentel directs financial, corporate development, information systems and administrative functions of Glu Mobile worldwide. Glu Mobile is a leading global publisher of mobile games. Pimentel joined Glu Mobile from Zone Labs where, as executive vice president and chief financial officer, he oversaw the company's successful negotiation and merger with Check Point Software. Prior to Zone Labs, Pimentel was a partner with Redpoint Ventures, where he managed the firm's operational activities as well as contributing to business development and new investment development. Pimentel's career has also included executive officer positions with WebTV Networks (acquired by Microsoft, Nasdaq:MSFT MSFT Microsoft (stock symbol)
