Dancers tango the opposition.


SLICK See SLC.  movers took to the dance floor for the first annual UK tango competition.

The event was organised by local student and dance teacher Miriam Orcutt, 22, from Fenham.

Local talent did well on the day with Newcastle-based John Paul The name John Paul might refer to: Full name

 Bennett and dance partner Maria Gabriele finishing in second place.

Another Tyneside couple, Carlo Pariset with partner Peggy Series took third spot, The North East couples were both pipped to the title by London based, semi-professional dance teachers, Timothy Hopedales and Anja Stellinger.

Organiser Miss Orcutt said: "Their dance routine was very original and confident and was performed with a lot of energy."
