And although the dancers have changed they still received a warm Billingham welcome as they performed in the sunshine yesterday afternoon. When one of the group's leaders Peter Pohanianik heard it was the Folklore Festival's anniversary he asked if it would be possible to take part, saying that Billingham holds a special place in the group's heart. "We still have one of the Billingham Folklore posters in our dance HQ back home," he said. The members of the group work in a range of professional careers when not performing in festivals.
