Dance group is new star on Broadway.

The not-for-profit arts organization, which nurtures and supports all dance artists at all levels and in all dance forms, will relocate its operations and performing center to the property from its current location at 451 Broadway.

On December 20, 2006, the corporation, also known as CBRE, completed acquisition of Trammell Crow Co. in a transaction valued at $2.  Downtown brokerage team of Bradley Gerla and James Searl represented Blackacre Capital Management, the building ownership, in the negotiations for the 15-year transaction. Tim Surlis of LANSCO acted on behalf of Dance Space Center.

Founded in 1984, Dance Space Center will occupy the entire second floor of the property, which will house its dance studios as well as a 150-seat auditorium to be used for formal performances. The organization received a grant from the Downtown Cultural Arts Center to assist with the relocation.
