Editors Rainey (architecture, U. of Virginia) and Treib (architecture, U. of California at Berkeley) have gathered essays and critical commentary on the work of noted landscape architect Dan Kiley that discusses his use of space, his public projects and his influences. Written for fellow architects, designers and students, this illustrated volume features critical analysis of Kiley's most famous works such as the Irwin Miller House and Garden, Dulles International Airport and the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. The proceedings from a 1982 symposium at U. of Virginia, where Kiley discussed his own design approaches, are also included.
