Dan Frederickson Announces Resignation From Kinko's; Headquarters Top Executive Presided Over Company's Explosive Growth.

VENTURA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 6, 1997--Dan Frederickson, Kinko's long-term top executive, announced his resignation Monday to pursue new career opportunities.

Frederickson's career with Kinko's spanned an 11-year period during which time he oversaw Kinko's transformation from that of a local copy shop to an international business-services provider, offering the latest in high-tech, state-of-the-art business services.

Frederickson was most recently president of Kinko's Central Division, a position he assumed in February 1997, in conjunction with Kinko's roll-up into one corporate entity from its decentralized structure of 127 affiliated partnerships. Prior to the company's unification, Frederickson was, for 10 years, the president of Kinko's headquarters operation known as Kinko's Inc.

While he was president of the company's headquarters, Kinko's experienced its most aggressive growth and expansion. The company's retail network increased to 850 locations in six countries from some 180 branch offices.

Joe Hardin, chief executive officer of Kinko's Inc., expressed deep regret over Frederickson's decision to leave the company: "Dan Frederickson has had a long and successful legacy with Kinko's. He presided over the company during a time of terrific growth and change and his contributions will be felt for a long time to come. Prior to Kinko's unification, Frederickson was also the owner/operator of Kinko's of Missouri, which included 12 Kinko's branch offices in the St. Louis metropolitan area, and president of Kinko's Graphics Corp., which had operated nearly 100 branch offices in 16 states. Before joining Kinko's in 1986, Frederickson spent 14 years with Xerox Corp. His last responsibility at Xerox was regional controller for the company's Northwest region.

Frederickson is a resident of Ventura, where he lives with his wife CiCie, who is a co-worker at Kinko's headquarters. A native of Missouri, Frederickson attended Central Missouri State University where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in music education and a master's degree in education. He served in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps.
