Dan Allen Honored by Gridiron Club for Lifetime Contribution to Football; Former Holy Cross Head Coach to Receive John Baronian Award at January 9 Dinner.

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 2003

The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston's Annual College Awards Night Dinner sponsorships will support the Danny Fund, which has been established for the benefit of Dan Allen Dan Allen (1973 to present) is a stand-up comedian currently based in New York City.

Allen has had considerable training in improvisation from the Upright Citizen's Brigade and has performed regularly at the World Famous Comic Strip.
. Coach Allen, battling a multiple chemical sensitivity multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), adverse physical reaction to certain chemicals in susceptible persons. When exposed to the chemicals, people with MCS react with symptoms such as nausea, headache, dizziness, fatigue, impaired memory, rash, and respiratory  that has severely curtailed his mobility, will receive the John Baronian Award for Lifetime Contribution to Football at the club's annual Bob Whelan Dinner, January 9, 2004 at the Sheraton Needham Hotel.

Allen recently completed his eighth season at the helm of the Holy Cross football program. During his career he engineered superb program turnarounds with the Crusaders and at Boston University, where he coached from 1990 to 1995. Dan's overall record in 14 years as a head coach is 61 wins and 97 losses.

At Boston University, Dan guided the team to its two best back-to-back seasons, posting a 21-4 mark in 1993-94. In 1993, BU's only unbeaten season, the Terriers rebounded from a 3-8 campaign to go 11-0 and advance to the second round of the NCAA NCAA
