Damascus Hosts 1st International Conference on Sustainable Urban Development in Syrian Cities.


Damascus Damascus (dəmăs`kəs), Arabic Dimashq or ash-Sham, city (1995 est. pop. 1,500,000), capital of Syria and of its Damascus governorate, SW Syria, on the eastern edge of the Anti-Lebanon Mts. , (SANA)- The 1st International Conference on Sustainable Urban Development in Syrian Cities is due to be held on Monday Monday: see week.  at Damascus University.The conference is organized by the Ministry of Local Administration in coordination with the Sustainable Urban Development Program of the German Agency for Technical Cooperation, andAa the participation of the Arab Urban Development Institute.The 2-day conference focuses onAaworld visions on the status of cities over the world's five continents and the Syrian cities, and the potential for establishing a network connecting them.
