Dallas.ENHANCEMENT OF MEETINGS PACKAGE CONTINUES Fresh on the heels of the $130 million expansion of the Dallas Convention Center comes even more new developments that will enhance Big D's meetings package. For instance, a new event facility opened last fall in the heart of Dallas. The Latino Cultural Center opened near downtown with a 300-seat theater, plaza, classrooms, and gallery space. Future plans for the complex include additional gallery space and classrooms. The $100 million W Dallas will offer 251 guest rooms, 11,000 square feet of meeting space, a 10,000-square-foot spa, a rooftop lounge, and 94 luxury residences on the top floors. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use block near American Airlines Arena that includes office and retail space. Another elegant hotel that opened recently in uptown Dallas is the 146-room Hotel Zaza, featuring 4,500 square feet of meeting space, the full-service ZaSpa, and the Dragonfly restaurant created by celebrity chef Stephan Pyles. One of the city's landmark hotels completed a $15 million renovation late last year. The 1,123-room Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion Tower upgraded the guest room bathrooms and replaced the soft goods in each room and the corridors. All guest rooms offer wireless Internet access, two dual-line telephones, and new wall coverings, drapes, and carpet. The convention center's expansion in 2002 created one of North America's top exposition facilities. The center now offers more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space, including 726,726 square feet of contiguous, same-level exhibit space and the largest singular column-free exhibit hall in the world at 203,000 square feet. It offers 105 upgraded meeting rooms as well. ADAM'S MARK DALLAS BRINGS NEW MEANING TO TEXAS-SIZED Located only 10 blocks from the convention center is the largest meetings hotel in all of Texas, the Adam's Mark Dallas. Situated in the downtown Dallas arts and financial district, the Adam's Mark has been specifically designed as a self-contained meetings facility with 1,840 guest rooms and 230,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel features five versatile ballrooms, 67 executive boardrooms and breakout rooms, a dedicated meetings and banquet staff, and on-site audiovisual support. If delegates have business at the convention center, a DART light rail stop is right outside the hotel. Designed to satisfy the needs of any meeting, the hotel's business center is open daily with computer rental, fax, color copiers, and other services. High-speed Internet access throughout the hotel keeps delegates connected wherever they go. Room amenities include dual-line phones with voice mail and modem ports. More than 200 suites as well as executive-level rooms provide an extra level of comfort and convenience. Concierge services bring all that Big D has to offer to the fingertips of each guest, and Concorde Club guests receive even more amenities with breakfast service and evening cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The Chaparral Restaurant on the 38th floor of the Adam's Mark Dallas provides some of the city's best food and most spectacular views. Its Silhouettes dance club and Players sports bar brings some of the city's hottest nightlife right into the hotel. |
