Dallas firm purchases Maumelle ad agency.Affiliated Computer Services Inc. of Dallas is buying Communications Development Inc. of Maumelle. Details of the acquisition were not released. Communications Development is a marketing, advertising and consulting agency that specializes in serving the trucking industry. Clients include IdleAire Technologies and National Freight Industries. The firm also has relationships with Sirius satellite radio, which is moving forward to merge with competitor XM. Trish Groves, president and CEO of Communications Development, started the firm in the early 1990s. From there, the firm grew from a one-woman agency to one that Arkansas Business reported employed 40 by 2006. In a statement, ACS announced it would consolidate Communication Development's operations with ACS Expedited Solutions and ACS MultiMedia Advertising to "supply marketing, advertising, and retention solutions tailored to the unique needs of the long-haul trucking and transportation market." All Communications Development employees will transition to ACS. The stock of ACS, a global company with 62,000 employees, trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "ACS." |
