An expert on new technology topics such as the Internet, Blogs, Podcasts and other related subjects, Lee has spoken regularly at a variety of PR conferences, educating PR professionals on cutting-edge technology that affects the profession.

"Being compared to Norm Teich is honor enough, much less being awarded in his name," Lee said. "When you are blessed with so much, as I have been, then giving some back is so very easy and incredibly satisfying. The honor and privilege is all mine."

"Steve's outstanding leadership and community service provide a wonderful example to all of our members," said PRSA Dallas Chapter President Jessica Jacobsen, APR. "We are pleased to be able to recognize his outstanding achievements and contributions with this prestigious award."

The Public Relations Society of America established the Norm Teich Award in 1989, the year after Teich's death, as a way to remember the lives Teich touched and his commitment to the betterment of the city of Dallas. Teich established his own public relations agency in Dallas and served with the Dallas PRSA chapter and spearheaded PRSA's participation in a communications audit for the City of Dallas.

The award is given each year to a PRSA member who demonstrates Norm's drive and involvement in volunteerism and community service.

Past recipients of the Norm Teich Award include Alice Dykeman, William W. Aston, Freda Gail Stern, David Dunnigan, Stanley R. Levenson, Thalia C. Oliphant, Marion Lindell, Jim Blackmore, Trudy O'Reilly, Andrew M. Stern, Cynthia I. Pharr, Lyria F. Howland, Rita A. Cox, Craig McDaniel and Gregg Shields.
