 Fellow and owner of public relations and marketing firm Dykeman Associates, Inc., has been chosen by the Dallas Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), based in New York City, is the world's largest organization for public relations professionals. The organization has more than 30,000 professional and student members, and is organized into 112 chapters nationwide.  (PRSA) as this year's recipient of the Norman P. Teich Award, which recognizes a member's outstanding dedication to public service.

The first woman to serve as president of the Dallas PRSA chapter, Dykeman was also the first female district chairperson in the country.

Active in the education community, Dykeman taught more than 300 top business managers in a Public Relations Management course at the University of Dallas The University of Dallas is a Catholic institution. It seeks to educate its students to develop the intellectual and moral virtues, to prepare themselves for life and work, and to become leaders in the community.  Graduate School of management over a period of six years. Since 1990, Dykeman has influenced more than 6,000 people through monthly networking skills workshops at the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce The North Dallas Chamber of Commerce is a chamber of commerce located in north Dallas, Texas (USA). At her company, Dykeman Associates Inc., Dykeman frequently mentors students from as far away as Europe, Latin America and the Far East. The Public Relations Society of America established the Norm Teich Award in 1989, the year after Teich's death, as a way to remember the lives Teich touched and his commitment to the betterment of the city of Dallas. The award is given each year to a PRSA member who demonstrates Norm's drive and involvement in volunteerism and community service.

Teich established his own public relations agency in Dallas and served with the Dallas PRSA chapter and spearheaded PRSA's participation in a communications audit for the City of Dallas.

Past recipients of the Norm Teich Award include William W. Aston, Freda Gail Stern, David Dunnigan, Stanley R. Levenson, Thalia C. Oliphant, Marion Lindell, Jim Blackmore, Trudy O'Reilly, Andrew M. Stern, Cynthia I. Pharr, Lyria F. Howland, Rita A. Cox, Craig McDaniel and Gregg Shields.

The Dallas Chapter of PRSA is the 13th largest PRSA chapter in the country, serving 383 practitioners of public relations in North Texas. The chapter was founded in 1951, just three years after the 1948 founding of the national society.
