Dallas: center expansion, revitalized downtown.

The amazing Dallas meetings package takes a giant step forward when the $128.8 million Dallas Convention Center expansion is completed in September. The expansion will create the largest, singular, column-free exhibit hall in the world at 203,000 square feet. Overall, the expanded center will offer 105 renovated meeting rooms and more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space, including 726,000 square feet of contiguous, samelevel exhibit space.

"This expansion and renovation project keeps us competitive in the convention and meetings industry," observes Dave Whitney, president and CEO of the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau. "This is the second major addition to be constructed in less than eight years--a clear recognition of the importance the city places on the convention and visitor industry."

The new Trinity Railway Express (TRE) is making connections between downtown and DFW International Airport a breeze. One-way fare is just $1 on the TRE, which also travels to downtown Fort Worth.

DFW Airport is progressing in its $2.6 billion capital investment plan. When completed in 2005, the project will add a new terminal with 23 gates, an eighth runway, additional parking for 7,000 vehicles, and a new people mover system.
