Demonstrates Advanced Billing and Customer Care Solution

to Support Optical Gigabit Ethernet Services

Daleen Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:DALN), a global provider of software that manages the revenue chain for next-generation service providers, enterprise business and technology solutions providers, today announced that it will showcase its RevChain(TM) billing and customer care software in booth No. 31 at the TeleManagement World trade show October 23-25 at the Mirage Events Center in Las Vegas. Daleen will also participate in the Optical Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) Catalyst Showcase at the show, in booth No. 3.

The Catalyst Showcase is part of the TeleManagement Forum's New Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS) initiative, where leading software and hardware providers collaborate to build integrated solutions for emerging markets. The Optical GigE project Daleen is participating in demonstrates how metropolitan area network (MAN) operators can take advantage of the combination of multi-wavelength Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and Gigabit Ethernet technologies to create new revenue-generating services and tiered pricing plans.

The optical GigE project highlights the advanced billing functionalities of Daleen's RevChain Commerce billing software, which enables providers to fully realize the revenue potential of their metro, regional and long-haul optical networks. RevChain Commerce uses service assurance and destination data gathered from partners to rate and bill for highly granular network service packages. This pre-integrated solution meets the need for Quality of Service (QoS) billing in the metro and regional markets as well as the demand for destination-sensitive billing and payment-triggered partner settlement among long-haul optical service providers.

By automating customers' QoS billing credits and adjustments, RevChain Commerce adds value to service providers' proactive SLA monitoring to increase customer satisfaction and reduce operational costs. Using RevChain Commerce, metro and regional optical providers can now more closely link their service packages with the QoS actually delivered and the amount billed to the customer. As a result, service providers can provide competitive pricing plans based on service level agreements (SLAs) as well as credits and adjustments based on the QoS delivered. For the first time, providers can structure service bundles so that credits and adjustments are applied either proactively before the bill is issued or not until a charge is disputed, according to the service level chosen by the customer.

For long-haul optical services, RevChain Commerce enables providers to bill according to the destination of each customer's data and create pricing incentives that encourage the exclusive use of their network. RevChain Commerce leverages data collected by Extreme's routers to enable customized destination-sensitive, usage-based rate plans. By billing according to the networks used to transport IP data to different destinations around the world, service providers can more closely tie their pricing plans to their actual network costs. These capabilities enable providers to more efficiently recoup the cost of building and maintaining their networks.
