Daleen Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:DALN), a global provider of high performance billing and customer care software solutions that manage the revenue chain, today reported improved results in revenue growth, expenses, and cash used in operations for the first quarter of 2002 compared to its performance in the fourth quarter of 2001. The company reported revenues of $1.9 million for its first quarter of 2002. Net loss for the quarter was $2.8 million, or $0.13 per share, compared with a $16.3 million net loss, or $0.75 per share during the fourth quarter of 2001, and compared to a net loss of $22.3 million, or $1.02 per share in the first quarter of 2001.

First Quarter Highlights:
-- Net loss for the quarter decreased by 83 percent compared to the fourth
quarter of 2001 and by 87 percent compared to the first quarter of 2001.

taken by the company in 2001.

-- Net cash used for the quarter was $2.4 million, which is a significant
improvement from previous quarters.

-- Gross margin increased from 38 percent in the previous quarter to 45 percent
