Advanced Technology Provides Service and Application Providers with Rapid Launch Capabilities for Voice, Data and Hosting Services

Daleen Technologies (Nasdaq:DALN), received a patent from the U.S. Patent Office for the technology at the heart of the company's convergent billing software product, BillPlex(R).

This innovative technology has enabled Daleen to pioneer and rapidly deliver pre-configured BillPlex packages tailored for the requirements of specific market segments. These packages enable competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), integrated communications providers (ICPs), data service providers, and applications solutions providers (ASPs) to enter their specified markets and rapidly launch customized services with minimal system implementation costs.

The patent relates to the dynamically configurable and extensible rating engine that powers the BillPlex platform. The technology provides openness and flexibility for billing software systems. This inherent flexibility makes it possible to easily adapt and extend the BillPlex system for new rate plans and services, as they come to market. This makes BillPlex one of the most cost-effective customer management and billing solutions in the industry.

The patented technology also provides Daleen with the ability to quickly develop future packages and upgrades. The BillPlex design embodies an insulated in·su·late
