Daleen Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:DALN), a global provider of software that manages the revenue chain for next-generation service, enterprise business and technology solutions providers, today announced that during recent performance benchmark testing, its RevChain(TM) Commerce application produced the highest levels of throughput and scalability ever reported for a pre-configured, modular billing system.

These are the first benchmark tests conducted on Daleen's new RevChain product line and new Internet Integration Architecture (IIA)(TM), which the company introduced in February 2001. The benchmark tests were conducted at Hewlett-Packard's lab facility in Cupertino, Calif. on the HP Superdome, a single server equipped with 64 550-MHz processors, using a subscriber base of 40 million accounts.

Under these conditions, RevChain Commerce successfully billed for 120 million complex service usage records (SURs) per hour, which equates to billing more than 48 million subscribers per month on a single server, and pre-processed and rated 22 million SURs per hour. These results mark a four- and ten-fold increase respectively in throughput compared to similar tests conducted on the company's BillPlex solution in 2000.

Daleen performed its benchmark tests under realistic usage scenarios to investigate and report on performance capabilities that are relevant to its partners and customers. The number of bills per hour a system generates is a critical measurement of its performance. While usage processing is usually ongoing throughout the month, once the billing cycle ends, service providers must process and deliver invoices to their customers as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Another priority for tier-one and emerging providers is the ability to support their rapidly expanding subscriber bases and product offerings. Daleen's IIA enables linear scalability so service providers can cluster additional servers to exponentially increase the number of bills they can process per hour.
