Dale's got title of top regional plumber.

 from Hinckley is celebrating winning a regional competition - and the chance of going on to a national prize.

Dale Clarke Dale Clarke (born March 23, 1978 in Belleville, Ontario) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with Blues of the Finnish SM-liiga. Clarke played three games in the National Hockey League for the St. Louis Blues. , of Trafford Road, Hinckley, came first in the West Midlands final to find the Plumber of the Year.

The 19-year-old will now go forward to the national final where he will compete against six others in a three-day contest in Somerset.

He said: "I've already achieved a great deal, so I'll see what happens. I'm sure I'll have a great time and learn a lot whatever happens.

"The judges were impressed with my improvisation first time round, so I'll just go and give it my best shot."

He has been studying plumbing for two years at Leicester College Leicester College is a further education college in Leicester, England. The college is one of the largest in the UK with 27,600 students, 1,600 staff and an annual budget of £43 million.  and will be fully qualified in two years time.

He was chosen to represent the college at the West Midlands finals and came top after a three-hour test, plumbing in a toilet and sink.

Dale is following in family footsteps and works for his dad's company.

The British Plumbing Employers Council organises the annual competition to find the industry's brightest new talent.
