Dalbey Invites Community to Reduce and Recycle Computer Junk.
Dalbey Education Institute:
When:
Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. until noon MDT.
What:
The Dalbey Education Institute invites the community to join them in
safely disposing of obsolete computer equipment. Our own experience
reflects that some computer junk is simply that. As our reliance on
electronics in everyday life becomes more prevalent, so does the waste
we accumulate. According to the EPA, this junk accumulates at
two to three times the rate of other waste.
While there are many worthy causes that accept donations of working
computers, many computers are simply too obsolete to warrant use.
However, computer junk still contains various valuable components. In
addition to recyclable plastic and steel, some electronics contain
recoverable amounts of precious metal and hazardous lead which can be
smelted and recovered safely.
Where:
Computer equipment can be brought for recycling to the Dalbey
Education Institute's parking lot, less than half a mile west of Hwy.
36 at 7233 Church Ranch Blvd., Westminster, CO 80021.
Who:
Employees of the Dalbey Education Institute will be hosting the event
from their Corporate Headquarters.
Visuals/Other:
Trucks from Executive Recycling, an Englewood-based recycler, will be
bringing trucks to handle as much computer junk as the community can
generate.
