Daktronics to Upgrade Video and Scoring Systems At Dodger Stadium With New LED Displays and Control Equipment.

Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., has been chosen to provide new video, scoring and electronic display control equipment for Dodger Stadium     [ , home of Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers "Dodgers" and "Brooklyn Dodgers" redirect here. The value of project totals more than $3.8 million, and includes a large ProStar(R) video display, a large monochrome LED matrix display, and new control system. The new boards will resemble the existing ones located above the left and right field pavilions in order to maintain the traditional look and feel of Dodger Stadium. The contract is expected to be signed by both parties by the end of December.

The ProStar(R) VideoPlus display will measure approximately 27 feet high by 48 feet wide (352 x 624 matrix with pixels on 23 mm spacing) and will be installed in the existing structure behind left field in Dodger Stadium. A large Galaxy(R) LED display will replace the existing matrix board in right field. This new amber LED display will measure approximately 22 feet high by 71 feet wide (72 x 240 matrix with pixels on 89 mm spacing), and will be used primarily for the display of game information and statistics, as well as graphics and animation. Daktronics will also update the control system as part of the contract. Control room equipment will include Venus(R) 7000 controllers, V-Link(R) video processors, V-Play(R) digital video/audio servers, DakStats(R) baseball statistics Statistics are very important to baseball, perhaps as much as they are for cricket, and more than almost any other sport. Daktronics and the Los Angeles Dodgers have teamed up in the past. The company has designed and manufactured fascia-mounted matrix displays, a speed of pitch display and a strikeout display for Dodger Stadium. The existing displays will be integrated with the new displays and control equipment.
