Daktronics to Provide $11 Million Integrated Video, Scoring and Information Display System for Detroit's Ford Field.

. Ford Field is scheduled to open in August 2002 and will be the home of the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. The value of the Daktronics display system is approximately $11 million.

East and west end zone displays will each measure approximately 27 feet high by 150 feet wide. Two large ProAd(TM) displays will be installed on the upper level fascia fascia (făsh`ēə), fibrous tissue network located between the skin and the underlying structure of muscle and bone. Fascia is composed of two layers, a superficial layer and a deep layer.  inside the new facility. A total of more than 1,200 running feet of ProAd(TM) technology will entertain and inform fans at Lions games and other events. One display will measure more than three feet high by 513 feet wide, and the other three feet high by 687 feet wide. These displays will be 40 pixels high with pixels on 23mm center-to-center spacing.

ProAd(TM) technology is quickly becoming the standard for digital, full-color advertising and information displays in sports and entertainment facilities. ProAd(TM) displays provide flexibility for facilities, teams and advertisers who want to change the information presented quickly and easily. The technology can help generate advertising revenue for teams and enhance the game day experience for fans by providing additional information and entertainment.

A SunSpot(R) incandescent matrix display will be mounted on the east and west fascia at each end of the stadium. These two displays will each measure approximately four feet high by 65 feet wide, and will be used to display statistics, scores and other game in progress information.
